The Fan click module is based on the EMC2301 fan controller, meant for use with 5V four-wire PWM fans commonly found in computers and other electronic devices. The EMC2301 supports PWM speeds from 9.5Hz to 29KHz in four programmable bands. A built-in clock and control algoritms allows precis control (1% margin) of fans within the range 500-16RPM.
Fan click has built-in detection of aging fans, and sends an interrupt (on the INT pin) when a fan has stopped. Continuous information on the fan's operation is available on the TACH pin.
Communicates with the main MikroElektronika board through the mikroBUS standard, or with other suitable microcontrollers over I2C.
