Lithium manganese dioxide is a very common battery type with a terminal voltage of 3.0V. Available as coin cells and as standard round cells. Nominal discharge current: 0.1 - 0.5 mA. Maximum recommended discharge current: 10 mA. Briefly (1 second) higher current can be delivered, about 50 mA. The example is for CR-2032. The anode consists of lithium and the cathode of manganese oxide (MnO2). The electrolyte consists of lithium salts dissolved in organic solvent. Advantages: Long shelf life, low self-discharge (about 1-2% per year), leak proof, very wide working temperature range -40 °C to +85 °C. Chemistry: Li/MnO2. Shelf life: 6-10 years.
