Product description
Module with the VCNL3030X01 distance sensor, for short and precise measurements. The sensor is often used in mobile phones to turn off the screen when the mobile phone is held to the ear.
Maximum range is approx. 30cm, but then requires that the emitter be mechanically blocked from the receiver. When the module is used without any separator and in daylight, distances up to approx. 20cm can be measured.
Several different settings to make the sensor more or less sensitive, such as automatic zeroing, LED drive current, integration time, counteracting the influence of sunlight, etc., can be made via I2C.
A separate digital output with hysteresis is available to only provide information about whether something is close to the sensor or not.
