Product description
PIR Sensor with time and sensitivity control (BS612). A compact passive infrared motion sensor that integrates both the sensing element and signal processing in a single package. It is used to detect motion from people or animals at distances up to about 5 meters and is suitable for discreet installations such as alarms, presence detection, lighting control, and battery-powered systems. The sensor is fully configurable via dedicated pins for enable, sensitivity, and output active time.
After connecting power and ground, the remaining pins can be used to control functions such as enable (OEN), sensitivity (SENS), and ON time. The signal time can be adjusted from about 2 seconds up to around one hour via a resistor, and the sensitivity can be adjusted in a similar way. The included Fresnel lens provides about 120° coverage and is focused around a 5 meter range. The sensor operates at 3.3 V and provides a digital output at 3.3 V level.
