Product description
STHS34PF80 is an IR sensor module for detecting presence, motion, and temperature changes. Unlike traditional PIR sensors, it does not require a Fresnel lens, enabling integration into small enclosures and space-constrained designs. The sensor can detect both stationary and moving objects at distances up to approximately 4 meters.
Communication is handled via I2C, providing access to detailed measurement data instead of a simple digital trigger (one or zero). This makes it possible to analyze changes in IR levels, presence, and motion patterns in applications requiring more advanced signal processing.
The module is equipped with Qwiic connectors, enabling quick and solder-free connections. For more permanent installations, plated through-holes for pin headers are also available. Pin headers are included but not pre-soldered. Built-in level shifting and voltage regulation allow the module to be used with both 3.3 V and 5 V systems.
Unlike simpler PIR sensors, this module can provide continuous data on IR intensity and temperature changes, making it suitable for applications such as smart presence detection, energy management, IoT systems, and advanced motion analysis.
