Product description
I2C controller board with 8 MOSFET outputs for controlling solenoids, electromagnets, and other electrical loads. The board is based on the MCP23017 GPIO expander and allows up to 8 individual outputs to be controlled via I2C, without using multiple GPIO pins on the microcontroller.
Each output has a separate N-channel MOSFET (AO3406) with a protection diode against inductive voltage spikes. A red LED indicates when each output is activated. Loads and external power are connected via screw terminals. The outputs use low-side switching, meaning that the MOSFET connects the negative side of the load to ground when activated.
The board also provides 8 additional GPIO connections from the MCP23017's port B, which can be used for LEDs, buttons, or other purposes.
Three address jumpers allow up to 8 boards to be connected to the same I2C bus, providing a total of 64 controllable outputs. The board features Qwiic connectors and can be used with microcontroller boards such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
