Product description
The NAU7802 is a 24-bit ADC designed for load cells. It reads signals from load cells or other sensors in a Wheatstone bridge configuration. With built-in amplification and calibration circuitry, it enables accurate measurements of small resistance changes caused by mechanical strain on the load cell.
The module includes a screw terminal block for connecting four-wire sensors. The terminals are labeled E+ and E– for excitation voltage (configurable between 2.4–4.0 V), and A+ and A– for differential signals from the sensor. Communication is handled via the I²C interface (Qwiic), and the device is compatible with both Arduino and CircuitPython. Note that the NAU7802 has a fixed I²C address; to use multiple units on the same bus, an I²C multiplexer (e.g., 41020444 or 41003469) is required.
This module is especially useful in applications requiring precise force or weight measurements, such as digital scales, robotics, and industrial automation.
