Ceramic capacitors with Y5V characteristics have a higher relative dielectric constant compared to X5R and X7R. Y5V is used to manufacture low-cost capacitors with larger capacitance. The capacitance of Y5V capacitors is strongly affected by changes in temperature and voltage. Typical change of capacitance depending on temperature is -22% to +56% at a temperature range of 10 to 55°C. In practice, its use is limited to general indoor applications.
