Li-Ion charging module for 3.6V/3.7V Li-Ion and Li-Po batteries. The module is designed for gentle and efficient charging using the TP4056, a proven charging IC that utilizes CC/CV technology (Constant Current / Constant Voltage). This is the recommended charging method for lithium-based batteries. The module is suitable for battery-powered projects, IoT devices, portable electronics, sensor nodes, and prototyping applications.
The charger is powered via USB-C or through the 5V header pins. During the charging process, the battery is automatically monitored. If the battery is deeply discharged, a gentle pre-charge cycle is applied before normal charging begins. As the battery approaches full charge, the circuit automatically switches to constant voltage mode and then terminates the charging cycle. Status is clearly indicated by two LEDs showing charging in progress and fully charged battery.
The TP4056 includes temperature regulation, automatic recharge, and precise charge voltage regulation. This charging module is therefore a practical choice for projects where the battery should be charged directly inside the finished device without being removed. The module does not provide protection against reverse polarity or short circuits. Ensure correct battery polarity and verify all connections before use. Never leave charging unattended, monitor the battery temperature during charging, and ensure adequate ventilation.
