Switch 230 VAC loads (up to 700 W) from a microcontroller or other low-voltage source. Built around an optotriac for safe galvanic isolation between the control and mains sides.
The EK025 is a switch for AC loads, built around an optotriac and a power triac. When a voltage of 1.25–5.5 V is applied to the input (P1), the IR LED in the optotriac turns on and the power triac is activated. The optotriac cannot drive larger loads on its own and is used to provide galvanic isolation between the low-voltage and mains sides, as well as to control the power triac.
In addition to the optotriac and power triac, the board includes a snubber circuit (C1 + R4), which enables control of motors and other inductive loads, as well as a varistor (RV1) that limits voltage transients that may occur when a load is switched off. The control voltage can be increased by replacing R1: for 12 V, R1 = 470 ohm; for 24 V, R1 = 1 kohm.

This kit should only be assembled, tested, and used by persons with sufficient knowledge of electrical safety and working with mains voltage. The circuit must always be disconnected from the mains before touching or modifying any components, connections, or other parts.
After assembly, the circuit board must be installed in a suitable enclosure that prevents accidental contact with live parts. Exercise extreme caution during connection, testing, and use.
