Product description
DS3231 is a high precision real-time clock (RTC). Connects via Qwiic or pin header. A pin header is included but not pre-soldered. Based on the DS3231 real-time clock from Analog Devices. The module allows a microcontroller to keep accurate time even when power is disconnected, thanks to a backup battery (CR1220, not included). The board communicates via I2C and is equipped with two Qwiic connectors, allowing the module to be connected directly to compatible development boards without soldering. It can also be used with traditional I2C connections via solder pads or pin headers. The solution is suitable for projects such as data logging, timestamping, clocks, timers and systems where accurate time must be maintained during power interruptions.
The RTC chip includes an integrated crystal and temperature compensation, providing a typical accuracy of around ±2 ppm (approximately ±1 minute per year).
