Product description
Arduino-compatible microcontroller card, compatible with the Sparkfun Pro Micro. The form factor is the same as on the popular Pro Mini, but the microcontroller has been replaced with an ATMega32u4. The 32u4 is used in e.g. the Arduino Micro and Arduino Leonardo.
One difference from the classic Atmega 328p is that the 32u4 has built-in USB, and can act as an HID device (simulate a keyboard/mouse/joystick), something the Arduino Uno/Nano can't do. The processor naturally has a pre-programmed bootloader.
By shorting the jumper J1, the voltage regulator is bypassed which allows the card to be supplied with voltage directly from the micro-USB or VCC pin. In this way, the circuit can operate at voltages from 2.7-5.5V, with the corresponding logic level.
Two pin headers are included (not assembled).
