Product description
Module featuring the DRV8871 motor driver from Texas Instruments. The driver is controlled using two PWM signals and can drive a connected DC motor in both directions. The inputs accept either a static DC voltage to run the motor at 100% power or PWM signals to vary the speed. When both inputs are low, the motor is disconnected from the outputs and is free to rotate. When both inputs are high, the motor is actively braked.
The driver also includes an intelligent current limiting function that can be programmed using an external resistor. Additional protection features include undervoltage protection, overcurrent protection, and thermal shutdown.
In summary, this is a highly capable, low-cost, easy-to-use, and reliable motor controller suitable for small brushed DC motors.
