Product description
UNO-compatible shield for charging LiPo/LiIon batteries – ideal for portable or wireless projects, or as a backup power solution during outages. Space is provided for mounting a battery between the female headers. An integrated boost converter supplies 5 V to your Uno with up to 1000 mA output current (depending on battery capacity), and includes protection against high current draw.
The shield only uses GND and 5 V, with optional battery voltage monitoring via A0–A6 (selected using a solder jumper on the underside of the board). All other pins are free for general use, either via jumper wires or stacked shields.
Charging is done via micro-USB or by supplying the same voltage as the Uno runs on – suitable for UPS-style applications. A built-in power switch makes it easy to turn the unit on and off.
Battery not included. Charging current is 500 mA, so the battery should have a minimum capacity to match.
Status LEDs indicate charging, full charge, and low battery level.
