Product description
Isolated LIN bus module (Master/Slave) based on the NXP TJA1028 LIN transceiver and the Analog Devices MAX12931 digital isolator. The module enables a microcontroller to be connected to a LIN network while galvanic isolation protects the connected electronics from ground potential differences and electrical noise. It can be configured as either a LIN master or LIN slave using a jumper, making it suitable for development, test equipment, automotive diagnostics, and industrial applications.
The TJA1028 complies with the LIN 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2 specifications as well as SAE J2602. The MAX12931 provides galvanic isolation between the LIN bus and the control circuitry, improving protection against overvoltage events and ground potential differences. The module also features an integrated slave termination resistor, K-Line support, and protection against short circuits of the LIN signal to both battery voltage and ground.
