Product description
MQ-7 semiconductor sensor for carbon monoxide (CO). The sensitive material in the MQ-7 gas sensor is SnO2, which has low conductivity in clean air. When the target gas is present, the sensor’s conductivity increases with the gas concentration. A simple electronic circuit can be used to convert this change in conductivity into a corresponding output signal representing the gas concentration.
Specifications:
- High sensitivity to carbon monoxide (CO)
- Supply voltage: 5 V
- Power: 900 mW (the sensor becomes hot during operation)
- Detection range: 10–500 ppm
- Dimensions: Ø14.5 × 16.5 mm (with pins)
Applications:
- Gas detector for incomplete combustion, e.g. from wood stoves, LPG heaters, and vehicle exhaust gases
- Industrial detector, e.g. for garages
- Portable gas detector
- Popular sensor – many available examples for different platforms
