ATmega328 with Arduino Optiboot (UNO). ATmega328 microcontroller in a DIP-28 package, preprogrammed with the Arduino Optiboot bootloader for UNO (16 MHz). The chip makes it possible to use Arduino code in custom electronics projects without needing a complete Arduino board.
Programming with the Arduino IDE requires an external 16 MHz crystal or resonator, a 5 V power supply, and a serial connection.
The ATmega328 is an 8-bit microcontroller from Atmel with 32 KB of flash memory and 23 I/O pins, six of which can be used as analog inputs with 10-bit resolution. The microcontroller can operate at up to 20 MHz with an external crystal and supports in-circuit programming.
The preinstalled Optiboot bootloader is a modified version of the one used in the Arduino UNO. The modifications improve reliability with various serial connections, particularly FTDI-based ones.
