Product description
EEPROM Breakout (512 Kbit) with Qwiic connection. Adds non-volatile memory to microcontroller-based systems via I2C. The board is based on the CAT24C512 and provides 512 Kbit (64 kByte) of storage, making it suitable for storing parameters, log data, or user settings that need to be retained after power loss.
The module uses Qwiic, enabling quick and solderless connection to compatible development boards. At the same time, 2.54 mm connections are available for use with pin headers on a breadboard (pin header not included). Communication is handled via I2C, and three address jumpers allow up to eight devices to be connected on the same bus.
The integrated ECC (Error Correction Code) function improves data integrity, and built-in write protection can be enabled to prevent unintentional changes to the memory. The memory is organized as 65,536 x 8 bits with a page buffer for efficient writing, making it suitable for applications with frequent write operations.
The board is particularly useful in systems where internal EEPROM is unavailable or limited, such as in many microcontrollers. Typical applications include data logging, configuration storage, and IoT applications.
