Product description
Laser distance sensor based on the STMicroelectronics VL53L1X featuring Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology. Achieve precise distance measurements from 30 mm to 4 metres with the VL53L1X. The sensor is ideal for robotics, drones, and automation projects. Its invisible 940 nm Class 1 laser provides fast and accurate distance measurements at rates of up to 50 Hz. The sensor measures distance by calculating the time it takes for an infrared laser pulse to be reflected back from an object. Whether you are building obstacle-avoiding robots or drone landing systems, the sensor delivers the precision and speed required. The programmable Region of Interest (ROI) allows the field of view to be adjusted from 15° to 27°, optimising detection for the intended application.
The module is based on the advanced VL53L1X sensor and features an I2C interface with a programmable I2C address (default 0x29). The sensor operates from 2.6–3.5 V and has an ultra-low standby current of only 6 µA, making it well suited for battery-powered projects.
