Product description
Environmental sensor based on the Bosch BME688 for measuring temperature, barometric pressure, humidity, and air quality. The module is suitable for weather stations, IoT systems, and other projects where multiple environmental parameters need to be monitored. Communication is via I2C, and the module is equipped with two Qwiic connectors for fast, solderless connection to Arduino and other compatible microcontrollers.
The BME688 combines four sensors in a single device, measuring temperature, barometric pressure, humidity, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The gas sensor uses a heated metal oxide element whose resistance changes depending on the surrounding gases. Together with the Bosch BSEC software, the sensor can calculate the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) index, estimated eCO₂, and bVOC. Unlike the BME680, the BME688 also supports AI-based gas classification, allowing the sensor to be trained to recognize specific gas mixtures for applications such as food storage monitoring or odour identification. Supplied with: Pin header (not pre-soldered).
