Product description
Pressure sensor module with Qwiic connections. Pressure sensor based on the Bosch Sensortec BMP384, offering high accuracy over a wide measurement range of 300 hPa to 1250 hPa and −40 to +85 °C. The module is intended for measurement of ambient air pressure (barometric) and temperature in applications where low power consumption and high accuracy are required, such as altitude measurement, weather stations, and portable systems. The BMP384 uses a gel-filled cavity that provides increased resistance to liquids such as water and other chemicals. This makes the sensor well suited for monitoring pressure near water or in humid environments, although the sensor is not waterproof without appropriate enclosure. The sensor communicates via I2C through solder pads or via Qwiic connectors. The solder pads can be fitted with pin headers for easy connection to a breadboard. The sensor features configurable oversampling, a FIFO buffer for storage of up to 73 measurements, and a digital low-pass filter, allowing performance to be tailored to the application requirements. The BMP384 has three operating modes: Sleep Mode, Normal Mode, and Forced Mode. In Sleep Mode, the sensor is inactive and consumes approximately 2 µA. In Normal Mode, the sensor automatically cycles between measurement and standby and has a peak current of approximately 700 µA during measurement. Forced Mode provides direct control of measurements by waking the sensor from Sleep Mode, performing a single-shot measurement, and then returning to Sleep Mode.
