Product description
Resistive touchscreens are very popular for use as input devices for TFT and LCD screens. However, connecting them to a computer requires a microcontroller to handle the ADC conversion. The AR1100 does all of this for you! It manages ADC conversion and the USB interface, making it very easy to use a touchscreen as a mouse or graphics tablet with a computer. The AR1100 installs as a standard USB mouse and requires no drivers for operating systems that support HID.
The module has both USB and UART outputs, allowing it to connect to virtually any microcontroller. The board also has a red LED that indicates activity on the touchscreen.
The connection to the touchscreen consists of an FPC connector with 1 mm pitch, which is the format most touchscreens use (e.g., our PSP touchscreen, item ID: 41004071). The outputs are also available via individual connections with 2.54 mm pitch, suitable for standard pin headers.
