Product description
Communication interface for applications requiring reliable half-duplex RS-485/RS-422 communication at a 3.3 V logic level. The board is based on the SP3485 transceiver and features both pin headers and screw terminals for easy connection.

- Current consumption: Without load: approx. 1–2 mA depending on DE/RE status. Slightly higher with active transmitting/receiving. Exact values as specified in the SP3485 datasheet

- Signal levels / common-mode range: Inputs accept common-mode voltages from approx. -7 V to +12 V, providing robustness against ground potential differences
- Receiver input impedance: Typical 15 kΩ, minimum 12 kΩ
- Short-circuit protection: The transceiver withstands output short-circuit conditions with high short-circuit current limits (±250 mA) without damage
- Pin header interface: DE (driver enable), RE (receiver enable), DI, RO etc., for easy integration with MCU or other logic
