RS232/485/422 to PoE Ethernet is a communication module that functions as a serial server and IoT gateway. It enables bidirectional transparent data transmission between RS232, RS485 or RS422 and Ethernet, making it suitable for data acquisition, industrial automation, monitoring, and network-based control systems.
The module combines multiple functions in one unit, including serial server, Modbus gateway, and MQTT gateway. It can be used to connect serial devices to a network or cloud services via standard TCP/IP protocols. Support is available for multiple communication modes such as TCP server, TCP client, UDP, and virtual serial port.
The unit supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) according to IEEE 802.3af, allowing both data transmission and power supply via a single Ethernet cable. Alternatively, it can be powered via a screw terminal or DC connector.
The design is intended for industrial environments, featuring galvanic isolation for both signal and power as well as protection against overvoltage. The enclosed design is suitable for DIN rail mounting, simplifying installation in control cabinets and industrial systems.
