Product description
The Raspberry Pi High Quality Camera is an affordable and high-quality camera from Raspberry Pi, with excellent low-light performance. The camera sensor is a Sony IMX477R, with a 12.3 Megapixel resolution (4056 x 3040). The sensor is backlit, which provides lower noise and higher light sensitivity. The sensor size of 7.9mm (diagonal) gives a pixel size of 1.55 µm x 1.55 µm.
This version with M12 mount works with most M12 lenses (also known as S-mount). M12 lenses are usually cheaper and more compact than C/CS lenses. With an external lens, different focal lengths and apertures can be had, and focus can be controlled better. The camera "body" is milled from an aluminum block, with a standard 1/4" screw mount compatible with camera tripods.
The Raspberry Pi HQ Camera is suitable for both consumer use and industrial applications, such as surveillance cameras.
In addition to taking pictures with software control, the High Quality Camera can also be triggered with an external pulse. This feature enables you to synchronise multiple High Quality Cameras, for simultaneous taking pictures or creating "bullet time" effects.
The camera can take pictures in .jpeg format, RAW, etc. and drivers for V4L2 are available which allows you to control ISO numbers and more.
