Product description
SEN-GP2Y1014AU from Joy-It is an optical dust and particle sensor based on Sharp’s GP2Y1014AU module. It uses an infrared LED and a phototransistor to measure the amount of light reflected by airborne particles. The reflected signal is converted into an analog voltage proportional to the particle concentration, making the sensor suitable for indoor air quality monitoring.
The sensor is easy to integrate with Arduino or other microcontrollers thanks to its analog output of 0–3.7 V. Joy-It provides ready-to-use Arduino code examples, simplifying both measurement and dust density calculation. In testing, the sensor produced stable and clear output signals after a short warm-up period of approximately 30 seconds. It responds quickly to changes in particle concentration and can detect particles as small as about 0.8 micrometers.
The SEN-GP2Y1014AU is well suited for embedded systems, portable devices, or air quality monitoring stations.
