Product description
BME680 is a sensor module from Joy-It based on the Bosch BME680 sensor. It measures temperature, humidity, air pressure, and VOC/air quality. A supply voltage between 3 and 5 V makes the module compatible with many microcontroller platforms. The Joy-It SEN-BME680 is particularly suitable for projects that require monitoring of temperature, humidity, pressure, and air quality simultaneously, with low power consumption across multiple operating modes.
Specifications:
- Dimensions: 30 × 14 × 10 mm
- Digital interfaces: I²C, SPI
- Supply voltage: 3–5 V DC
Temperature:
- Operating range: –40 to +85 °C
- Full accuracy within the range 0 to +65 °C
Humidity:
- Accuracy: ±3% relative humidity
- Hysteresis: ≤ 1.5%
- Response time: approx. 8 s
Air pressure:
- Measurement range: 300–1,100 hPa
- Relative accuracy: ±0.12 hPa
- Absolute accuracy: ±1 hPa
Gas / air quality (VOC):
- Response time: approx. 1 s
- The gas sensor is based on metal oxide technology and cannot distinguish between specific gases; it estimates the total VOC level as an indicator of overall air quality.
Power consumption:
- During temperature, pressure, and humidity measurement: low microampere range
- When gas measurement is enabled: several milliamperes depending on operating mode
- In sleep mode: very low power consumption, approx. 0.15 µA
Interface and integration:
The module supports I²C and SPI. Joy-It provides code examples and wiring instructions for both Raspberry Pi and Arduino in their manuals.
