Product description
On/Off Shim is a board that provides the Raspberry Pi with an intelligent power switch. The board is soldered directly onto the GPIO header and is thin enough to fit between an expansion board and the Raspberry Pi. An unassembled pin header is included for non-permanent mounting. Press the button once to power on, and press it again to initiate a shutdown and cut the power as soon as the operating system has terminated. For the shutdown to work correctly, a service must be installed. To install it, open a terminal window and type: curl [https://get.pimoroni.com/onoffshim](https://get.pimoroni.com/onoffshim) | bash
Features:

What does Shim mean?
In technical contexts, shim is used to describe a thin layer, an adapter, or a software layer that is placed between two components to allow them to work together despite differences in interface, behavior, or level.
