Product description
Varistor (VDR, Voltage Dependent Resistor) of the MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) type. Used to protect electronics against overvoltage and transients. It operates as a voltage-dependent resistor that rapidly diverts energy when the voltage exceeds a defined threshold level. It also functions as a spark suppression device for relays and contactors by limiting voltage spikes that could otherwise damage components in the circuit.
This component belongs to the 10D series and is constructed with a metal-oxide based varistor core in disc form. The design provides fast response to transient events, high energy absorption capability and low clamping voltage, contributing to effective protection of semiconductors such as diodes, transistors, ICs and thyristors. The varistor can be used in mains filters, relay control circuits, electromagnetic valves and other applications where voltage disturbances may occur.
