Product description
Addressable RGB LED. NeoPixel-compatible with built-in WS2812D driver. An intelligent RGB LED with integrated control circuit. Addressable LEDs enable individual control of each LED in a chain via a single data line. The data line is connected to a microcontroller output (PWM), such as Arduino, ESP32 or Raspberry Pi.
Each LED contains separate diodes (R, G, B) with 8-bit PWM control per channel, providing 256 levels per color and a total of 16,777,216 possible colors.
Specification:
- Supply voltage: 5 VDC
- Rated current (max): 20 mA per color channel at full brightness. Max 60 mA at full white
- Data transfer: 800 kbps via single-wire serial communication
- Package: 2.5 × 4.8 × 4.5 mm
- Operating temperature: -25 °C to +80 °C
- Control: Serial, single-wire digital interface
- Luminous intensity: R: 550 mcd, G: 1100 mcd, B: 300 mcd
- Angle: 120°
- Mounting: Through-hole (THT)
Features:
- Integrated control: Each LED contains a built-in control unit and constant current limiter
- Chainable: Data is automatically forwarded from one pixel to the next via the DO pin, enabling daisy-chaining without the need for additional logic
- Simple communication: Only one data line is needed to control a large number of pixels, simplifying wiring
- High color quality: Each color channel has 256 levels, allowing smooth and accurate color rendering
- Long range: The signal can be transmitted up to 2 meters between pixels without the need for amplification
Applications:
- Decorative lighting: Create lighting effects for events, signage and home decor
- Prototyping: Ideal for use on breadboards and in other prototype setups
- Interactive projects: Suitable for projects requiring responsive lighting, such as music visualization or user interfaces
Usage recommendations:
- Power supply: Use a stable 5 VDC power source. Power: estimated requirement 60 mA per LED (10 LEDs = 0.6 A)
- Resistor: A series resistor of 75 Ω on the data line can improve signal integrity, especially over longer wires
