Product description
EKM033 is a step-down (buck) converter designed to drive high-power LEDs, LED strips, and LED matrixes. The module is developed and designed by Electrokit. EKM033 is based on the high-efficiency TPS92200 LED driver IC from Texas Instruments.
The module converts a higher voltage (4V to 30V) into a lower voltage that is regulated to match the forward voltage of the connected LEDs. Since the driver regulates the output to a constant current, any number of LEDs can be connected in series up to the maximum output voltage (99% of VIN).
The driver IC includes protection against open load, short-circuited load, undervoltage, and overtemperature. Please note that the module does not include reverse polarity protection on the supply voltage and may be damaged if connected incorrectly.
Brightness can be controlled from 0–100% using PWM or an analog voltage between 0 and 2.5V. The integrated 2.5V voltage reference makes it very easy to connect a potentiometer for smooth dimming.
The output current can be programmed by opening or shorting the solder jumpers on the back of the PCB or by connecting an external resistor between GND and FB.
