Product description
The L239D is a dual H-bridge driver for controlling DC motors and other inductive loads. It can drive two motors (or one bipolar stepper motor) and delivers up to 600 mA per channel, with a maximum rated voltage of 36 V. The chip includes built-in diodes for protection against inductive kickback and can be controlled directly from logic levels (TTL/CMOS). It is commonly used in robotics and embedded systems to enable forward/reverse control as well as speed regulation via PWM.
