Product description
HT6871 is a low-EMI, filterless Class D power amplifier with an Anti-Clipping function and an output power of 3.4 W. It offers high efficiency across various applications and achieves performance comparable to Class AB amplifiers.
HT6871 uses the Anti-Clipping Function (ACF), which detects and suppresses clipping in the output signal caused by excessive input levels. ACF can also manage clipping that occurs when the supply voltage drops in battery-powered designs. This significantly improves audio quality, enhances the listening experience, and protects the speaker. Depending on the application, ACF-1 or ACF-2 modes can be selected, providing a maximum THD+N of 3 percent and 10 percent respectively.
HT6871 provides strong EMI suppression characteristics. Its radiation level is well below FCC Part 15 Class B requirements without additional design measures. This reduces interference with sensitive circuitry and simplifies system design. The filterless modulator can drive speakers directly and delivers low distortion and low noise compared with other digital audio amplifier ICs for mobile devices. Thanks to the filterless architecture, applications can be implemented with fewer external components.
HT6871 also includes shutdown mode, over-current protection, over-temperature protection, and protection against malfunction at low supply voltage.
