The HEF4894BP is a 12-bit shift register with a storage register and integrated LED driver outputs. The device is used to expand the number of digital outputs from a microcontroller and is particularly suitable for controlling LED arrays, displays, and indicators. Data is entered serially and presented on 12 parallel outputs. Multiple devices can be cascaded to increase the number of outputs.
