KY-039 Heartbeat Sensor – a compact reflection-based pulse sensor designed for prototyping and educational use in biometrics and wearable technology. The sensor utilizes an infrared LED and a phototransistor. When a finger is placed between these components, the light is reflected by the blood flow, producing an analog signal value — which, after further processing, can be used to determine the pulse rate. The pulse sensor is directly compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32.
