GNSS/GPS receiver module for precise positioning. With this module, you can use GNSS in your project, for example for asset tracking or wearable devices. The module is compact, energy-efficient, offers high performance, and is easy to use thanks to its built-in antenna.
The L86-M33 is a GNSS receiver capable of receiving signals from the GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo satellite constellations. Equipped with EASY (Embedded Assist System for self-generated orbit prediction) and AlwaysLocate technologies, the L86-M33 provides fast and accurate positioning even in challenging environments. The advanced built-in LOCUS logging function allows routes and location data to be stored.
In addition to the L86-M33 module with an integrated antenna, the breakout board also features a holder for a CR1220 battery, which serves as a backup for timekeeping and GPS data. The module also operates without a battery, but in that case it must download satellite data again at every startup (cold start). If the integrated antenna does not provide sufficient reception, a u.FL/IPX connector is available for connecting a higher-performance external antenna. All connection pins are broken out to header pins on the PCB for easy access. The module communicates via UART and operates from a 3.3 V supply.
