Product description
MQ-131 sensor for ozone gas (O₃), also sensitive to chlorine gas (Cl₂) and nitrogen dioxide (NO₂). MQ-131 is a semiconductor sensor based on metal oxides with low conductivity in clean air. When the target gas is present, the sensor’s conductivity increases in proportion to the gas concentration. A simple electronic circuit can be used to convert this change in conductivity into a corresponding output signal that represents the gas concentration.
The sensor can be mounted on a suitable breakout board 41004066.
Specifications:
- High sensitivity to ozone (O₃)
- Also sensitive to chlorine gas (Cl₂) and nitrogen dioxide (NO₂)
- Adjustable sensitivity
- Supply voltage: 5 V
- Power consumption: 900 mW (the sensor becomes warm during operation)
- Detection range: 10–1000 ppm
- Dimensions: Ø19.5 × 24 mm (including pins)
Applications:
Monitoring of ozone in ambient air, for example in urban environments and for environmental measurements. Indoor and outdoor air quality monitoring, especially in systems focused on oxidizing pollutants. Control of ozone levels in industrial processes where ozone is used, for example in water treatment, disinfection, and surface treatment. Safety monitoring in facilities where chlorine is used or stored, such as water treatment plants and the chemical industry. Detection of NO₂ in connection with combustion processes, traffic-related environments, and ventilation systems. Education, laboratory exercises, prototyping, and development projects in gas detection and sensor technology.
