Product description
Electronic Dice – Build it yourself with LEDs and logic!
EK028 developed by Electrokit. Tired of chasing dice that roll under the sofa? Then this electronic dice is the solution for you! EK028 is a fun DIY kit where you solder the components yourself. Difficulty: Easy or medium depending on how you choose to build it (see below).
Function:
Press the button to roll the dice. Release to display the result. After a short while, the LEDs automatically turn off to save power – smart and battery-friendly.
The brain behind the dice is a CD4017B decade counter which, together with diode logic and a clock generator (astable multivibrator), displays the numbers 1–6. Perfect for anyone who enjoys electronics, wants to practice soldering, and at the same time create something fun and useful.
Assembly – Easy or Medium:
The dice can be assembled and used either with the full PCB intact (difficulty: easy), or the circuit board can be split in half (no tools required) and mounted using the included spacers (difficulty: medium). Regardless of how you build it, the result is a dice that both blinks and impresses!
Specifications:
- Powered by a 3V CR2032 battery (included). Can also be powered from 3–12 VDC.
- Automatic power-off after approx. 15 seconds
- PCB dimensions: 38 x 78 mm or 2x 38 x 38 mm
