Product description
The DRV8833 is a dual H-bridge motor driver for brushed DC motors, bipolar stepper motors, solenoids, and other inductive loads. Each H-bridge output stage uses N-channel MOSFETs and includes PWM current regulation and current limiting circuitry. Protection features include overcurrent shutdown, short-circuit protection, undervoltage lockout, and overtemperature shutdown, all reported via an open-drain nFAULT pin. A low-power sleep mode is available via the nSLEEP pin. All four bridge inputs (AIN1, AIN2, BIN1, BIN2) and nSLEEP have internal pull-downs. Current sensing is supported via external resistors on the AISEN and BISEN pins.
- Supply voltage (VM): 2.7 to 10.8 V (abs. max 11.8 V)
- Output current per H-bridge (PWP/HTSSOP package): 1.5 A RMS, 2 A peak
- Outputs paralleled: 3 A RMS, 4 A peak
- RDS(on) HS + LS: 360 mΩ
- Control interface: PWM via GPIO (AIN1, AIN2, BIN1, BIN2)
- Decay modes: fast and slow
- Sleep current: 1.6 µA
- Protection: overcurrent, short-circuit, undervoltage lockout, overtemperature
- Bridge inputs (AIN1, AIN2, BIN1, BIN2): internal pull-down, default low when open. nSLEEP: internal pull-down, must be driven high to enable the device.
- Operating temperature: -40°C to +85°C
