Product description
EKM043 is a DC/DC converter from Electrokit in a very compact format. The module is based on the Texas Instruments TPS563300 regulator, which combines high efficiency, low quiescent current and several built-in protection features.
The module converts an input voltage of 3.8–28 V to 3.3, 5, 9 or 12 V with high efficiency and minimal heat generation.
The output voltage is selected using solder jumpers on the back of the PCB. The module is supplied with 3.3 V as the default setting, but this can easily be changed. Note that only one solder jumper may be closed at a time.
The maximum load current is approximately 3 A. The maximum current depends on the input voltage and ambient temperature.
To improve efficiency at low loads, the regulator automatically switches to a more energy-efficient mode to reduce power consumption. However, this results in slightly higher output voltage ripple.
The module can be connected using the included screw terminals, pin headers (2.54 mm pitch) or by soldering wires directly to the PCB.
