Product description
CAN bus module based on the Microchip MCP2518FD and ATA6563. Connects Arduino and other microcontroller projects to automotive and industrial CAN networks. Suitable for automotive diagnostics, robotics, industrial automation, IoT systems, and other applications using CAN communication. Supports both classic CAN 2.0B and the modern CAN FD standard with data rates up to 8 Mbit/s.
The MCP2518FD functions as an external CAN controller and supports bit rates up to 1 Mbit/s, or up to 8 Mbit/s when using CAN FD. The integrated ATA6563 transceiver is designed for reliable communication in demanding automotive and industrial environments. Communication with the microcontroller takes place via SPI, making the module compatible with Arduino, ESP32, and other platforms featuring an SPI interface.
The module is equipped with a quick-connect terminal for CANH and CANL, along with an onboard 120 ohm termination resistor that can be enabled using a solder jumper.
