Product description
The CA3140 is a BiMOS operational amplifier that combines the advantages of high-voltage PMOS transistors in the input stage with bipolar transistors in the output stage, integrated on a single monolithic chip. With a MOSFET input, it offers very high input impedance, low input current, and high speed. The amplifier operates with supply voltages from 4 V to 36 V (single or dual supply) and is internally phase-compensated for stable unity-gain operation. An external capacitor can be connected for additional frequency roll-off. Dedicated pins allow input offset voltage nulling.
The PMOS input stage supports input signals as low as 0.5 V below the negative supply rail, making it well-suited for single-supply applications. The bipolar output stage includes built-in protection against short circuits to either supply rail or ground.
