RTC module with battery holder for one CR2032 button cell. The module enables a microcontroller to read the current time and date with very high precision. The module can provide timing in seconds, minutes, hours, date, month and year. Extra functions include leap-year compensation, 12/24h format and a programmable square wave output. The module sense when the supply voltage drops and automatically switches over to the backup battery to keep the clock going. When powered from the backup battery, the module consumes very little current and will keep running for a very long time. The RTC communicates via I2C. Libraries for Arduino is available for download.
