This chip can be used to connect 16 analog sources (like sensors) to 5 pins on a microcontroller. 4 of the pins must be digital pins, 1 pin must be an analog to digital conversion pin. This allows 16 sensors to operate on only 5 pins of a micro! This is a great way to connect a lot of sensors to a few pins. You can also run the mux/demux the other direction. One serial stream connected to the SIG pin can be piped to multiple outputs. The mux/demux also works with digital signals (like serial, I2C, SPI). This means you can hook up multiple serial devices (like a GPS TX pin, and a XBee DOUT pin) to one RX pin on a microcontroller. The IC can control analog voltages that vary across the voltage supply range. The bidirectional switches allow any analog or digital input to be used as an output and vice-versa with a "Break-Before-Make" switching of 6ns at 4.5V. In addition, the switches have low "on" resistances and low "off" leakages. Includes and enable control which when high will disable all switches to their "off" state. Our infrared remote control offers buttons for four directions, power, select, and three optional use buttons (labled A, B, and C). Unfortunately we cant guarantee that it will work with your Stuart Hughes' PrestigeHD Supreme Rose Edition though.     MMA7260 is 3-axes accelerometer and measure the accelerations in X Y and Z axis with range +-1.5 g to 6 g.(software selectable sensitivity). Adding the ARM7 with USB interface and the serial flash memory open up possibilities to implement a lot of interesting projects with this small board. The original idea for this board was inspired by the movie Minority Report where Tom Cruise instead of mouse used his hands to interface with the computers from the future. Searching the net for more info on this subject we found similar project here. It looks not bad but the acceleromaters used are 2 axis and the whole project was done too complex. Our goal was to make so small PCB which to be able to attach to your finger and with mini USB connector to be able to connect to any PC running Windows and to use it as 3d mouse i.e. moving your finger left - right-up-down to move your mouse cursor and if you move your finger toward the screen to make the mouse "click" action. This of course doesn't limit the applications of this board other cool application to be made is for instance car performance logger: as we have the acceleration and have microcontroller which can measure the time we can easily compute the velocity V = A * t, then the distance S = V * t and as the accelerometer is 3-axis we can calculate at what distance in 3D space the object moves. If we know your car mass we can calculate the force applied F = m * A and from this we can calculate your real car power P = V * A, so having this little board inside your car and knowing your car mass you can have calculated in real time your car characteristics: Acceleration (0-100 kmh / 0-60mph), Braking distance, Horsepower, etc etc and remember these are the actual measurements on your car not catalogue data. Yet another application is to measure the vibrations and shock on objects, for instance put one such device with battery power supply inside your parcel before send it by FedEx and then the recipient dump the info logged - what time it took, what velocity parcel had, did they drop it on the floor (i.e. at what max shock it was exposed), what time it was actually moved and with what speed, how many time it stayed rest i.e. it didn't moved and you can evaluate the different couriers efficiency this way?     The Pololu Pushbutton Power Switch from Pololu is a compact, solid-state power switch controlled by a momentary pushbutton switch. Because the switched current does not flow through the mechanical switch, a large variety of small, low-power switches can be used to control a substantial amount of power. The use of momentary pushbutton switches also allows multiple switches to be used in parallel to control the power to one load. The solid-state switch also allows the load to turn off its own power, which can be beneficial when used with battery chemistries sensitive to over-discharging. Please note that this switch has several drawbacks when compared to mechanical switches, so please be sure you fully understand this product before using it in your system. This is the low voltage version operating from 2.5V to 7VDC. The Power Switch can fit in an 18-pin DIP (dual in-line package) footprint, making it compatible with solderless breadboards and perforated printed circuit boards with standard 0.1" spacing. For such applications, the included male header pins can be soldered to the switch PCB as shown in the picture to the right. Alternatively, wires can be soldered directly to the switch PCB for non-breadboard applications. For high-current applications, make sure that the wires can safely carry the current. Two pads/pins are provided for each of the power nodes, and multiple pads should be used for applications drawing over 5 A. The included pushbutton switch can be used to trigger the switch. Alternatively, a separate pushbutton, such as a remote panel-mounted unit, can be used instead. Multiple pushbuttons can be wired in parallel for multiple control points, and each of the parallel pushbuttons will be able to turn the switch on or off. The latching circuit performs some button debouncing, but pushbuttons with excessive bouncing (several ms) might not function well with this product.     You want to make a cool robot, maybe a hexapod walker, or maybe just a piece of art with a lot of moving parts. Or maybe you want to drive a lot of LEDs with precise PWM output. Then you realize that your microcontroller has a limited number of PWM outputs! What now? You could give up OR you could just get this handy PWM and Servo driver breakout. When we saw this chip, we quickly realized what an excellent add-on this would be. Using only two pins, control 16 free-running PWM outputs! You can even chain up 62 breakouts to control up to 992 PWM outputs (which we would really like to see since it would be glorious) It's an i2c-controlled PWM driver with a built in clock. That means that, unlike the TLC5940 family, you do not need to continuously send it signal tying up your microcontroller, its completely free running!     Thermocouples are very sensitive, requiring a good amplifier with a cold-compensation reference. The MAX31855K does everything for you, and can be easily interfaced with any microcontroller, even one without an analog input. This breakout board has the chip itself, a 3.3V regulator with 10uF bypass capacitors and level shifting circuitry, all assembled and tested. Comes with a 2 pin terminal block (for connecting to the thermocouple) and pin header (to plug into any breadboard or perfboard). Goes great with our 1m K-type thermocouple. New! Now uses the MAX31855K instead of the MAX6675, so it can measure a wider temperature measurement range. Please note! the MAX31855 is not pin compatible or drop-in code compatible with the MAX6675. We do have an Arduino library for both chips but you'll need to adjust any existing MAX6675 designs for the mew MAX31855. The MAX6675 has been discontinued by Maxim.
